CO-OP ISLAMI ANNOUNCES HUGELY SUCCESSFUL RESPONSE TO ITS "WE ARE ALL FOR PALESTINE" CAMPAIGN
Co-Op Islami has announced that its "We Are All for Palestine" campaign has proved a major success among its customers who have welcomed the special campaign messages that have been displayed on products and distribution vans over the past two months. The campaign will end at the end of July and Co-Op Islami managers say they have been overwhelmed by the support from the public and positive reaction to their campaign to broaden awareness and support for the Palestinian cause. Employees of Co-Op Islami also donated a total of Dhs 34,000 from their salaries to help support the ongoing campaign to help ease the suffering of the Palestinian people. Mr Saleh Saeed Lootah, Managing Director, Co-Op Islami, said: "We have been tremendously encouraged by the overwhelming positive response received to our campaign by both our customers, suppliers, partners and the community across the UAE.
"Over 20 years we have built up a strong trust between us and our consumers which helped us go beyond the traditional producer-consumer relations.
 
CO-OP ISLAMI MOVES INTO FROZEN SEA FOOD SECTOR – INTRODUCES POPULAR FROZEN SHRIMP RANGE
Co-Op Islami, the Gulf’s leading supplier of pure Halal meat products, has expanded its popular frozen food product lines into sea food for the first time with the introduction of a range of frozen cooked and uncooked shrimps. The move into frozen food is the first step in a planned growth programme by the company as it responds to growing demand from its customer base to provide a far wider range of products.

Consumption of frozen chicken in the UAE estimated at 26 million kilos a year
The consumption of frozen chicken in the UAE is estimated at 26 million kilos a year, according to a study carried out by an independent market research company on behalf of Co-op Islami, the leading company specialising in meat products in the UAE and GCC. The study covered behaviour of the local market for frozen chicken and chicken products and interviews with consumers. The study shows that a family will have chicken as part of their lunch at least three times a week while many families have it for dinner as well during the week. It also showed that major consumers of Co-op Islami frozen chicken were UAE and Arab nationals. 38 percent of UAE nationals consumed Co-Op Islami products while 48 percent of Arab nationals consumed Co-op Islami products.
The reasons given by consumer for choosing Co-op Islami products were it was pure Halal, locally produced& met international standards .
 
Co-op Islami committed to producing quality Halal products
Co-op Islami, the leading company specialising in meat products in the UAE and GCC, has significantly increased production of its frozen chickens to meet heavy demand for these products in the UAE and regional markets. Mr. Saleh Abdullah Lootah, Assistant General Manager (Operations) at Co-op Islami told reporters during a tour by UAE-based media of the state-of-the-art Co-op Islami plant at Jebel Ali Free Zone that the current demand for Co-op Islami chickens is the result of a combination of factors - its commitment to providing pure quality Halal products and sound production and marketing strategies. Co-op Islami's sound production policies have ensured that strict quality and hygiene measures were followed right from the time the chickens left the farm gate to the point they were placed in the freezer.
Referring to the HACCP certification requires regular inspection every year by a quality control team of the various procedures and practices.
 
CO-OP ISLAMI TO HAVE BIGGEST EVER PRESENCE AT GULF FOOD EXHIBITION IN DUBAI
Co-Op Islami, the Gulf’s leading supplier of real Halal meat products, will have its biggest ever presence at this year’s Gulf Food Exhibition 2003 in Dubai between February 23-26. CO-OP ISLAMI ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF DEDICATED NEW CATERING SERVICES DIVISION, EMDAD
Co-Op Islami, the Gulf’s leading supplier of pure Halal meat products, has announced the launch of an exclusive new catering services division called Emdad aimed at meeting the complete catering needs of its customers. As a stand-alone unit of Co-Op Islami, the new catering services division will provide speedy and efficient door-to-door food services backed by a dedicated and specialised staff and a large fleet of refrigerated trucks. CO-OP ISLAMI LAUNCHES KIDS RANGE OF "ALADDIN" FROZEN FOOD TO APPEAL TO YOUNGSTERS ACROSS GULF
Co-Op Islami, the Gulf’s leading supplier of real Halal meat products, has launched "Aladdin", the first complete range of frozen food for children to be introduced to the Gulf, at the Gulf Food Exhibition in Dubai. The packaging for the first five products to be introduced in the range features a range of fun and colourful cartoon characters to excite youngsters about the tasty food it contains. The launch range of products comprises "Dino" Chicken Nuggets, "Crazy Shapes" Chicken Nuggets, Popcorn Chicken and Beef and Chicken Burgers. The nuggets have been designed in dinosaur shapes and other fun shapes to make mealtimes more fun than ever when parents choose Co-Op Islami for their children.

Co-op Islami Sponsored Nutrition Update 2003 hold by Zayed University.
The College of Family and Nutrition Sciences in collaboration with Co op Islami organized a"nutrition update"open to all students of Zayed University on both campuses on Tuesday 15th April 2003. The purpose of this update is to provide valuable information regarding nutrition and wellness and to positively influence the nutrition and health related lifestyle habits, of Zayed University students and their families. the Assistant General Manager for Coop Mr. Hamid Badawi informed the audience about the importance of producing Halal products. spoke about the healthy aspects of the Halal method and how consumers benefit from Coop Islami’s products. also introduced their new product range which is called ‘Aladdin’ aimed at healthy foods for children. Dr. Abdulrahman Musaiger the Director of the Environment & Biological Research Program His lecture was titled"Our Food Habits and Relationship to Health & Disease"discussed in detail the Gulf countries cultural food habits.

Co-Op Islami launches unique "Golden Goal" programme for employees
Co-Op Islami, the Gulf’s leading supplier of Halal meat products, has launched a unique programme called "Golden Goal" for its employees, as part of its strategy to motivate staff and improve efficiency within the entire company to achieve its long-term goal of becoming a major player in international. Co-Op Islami MD, Mr. Saleh Saeed Lootah announced the "Golden Goal" programme at a seminar exclusively for its employees, during which he highlighted the vision and mission behind this unique initiative. In a separate presentation at the event, Mr. Saleh A. Lootah, Asst.GM (Operations) at Co-op Islami stressed on the importance of change, and that it was logical that changes first take place within the company. Speaking also, Dr. Lway Naqasha from DQA praised Co-op Islami for achieving and maintaining high quality standards in line with the recommendations made by the Dubai Quality programme.

Aladdin Sponsored DSS Cooking Competition at Burjuman Canter
Coopislami participated for the DSS through a cooking competition held between 8th August 2003 to 13th August 2003. Aladdin sponsored the event. All product packages were put on display at the event. This was a major centre of attraction for the kids. Face Masks, Ballons and Colouring books were distributed to the kids. Leaflets were distributed to the mothers regarding Aladdin product.

Co-op Islami International team in Association with Bates Pan Gulf our P.R agency has arranged successfully press conference in Ritz Carleton Hotel in Bahrain on 24/12/2003, the presence of journalist from major printed press in Bahrain and some T.V and radio channels. Mr.Saleh Saeed Lootah and Saleh Abdullah Lootah had made a speech and presentation in the conference described the Co-op Islami journey since the start and our strategy in other markets ,emphasizing on our plan in Bahrain market for the coming period, after that Mr.Saleh Saeed Lootah and Saleh Abdullah Lootah along with Mr.Ibrahim Khamis the M.D of our distributor company in Bahrain had answered the questions of the journalists which has reflected the deep influence of Co-op Islami project of providing Real Halal food in the mind of journalists, and it was translated into excellent press releases about Co-op Islami in all Qatari Arabic and English newspapers next day.
In the same day evening another event was conducted for the Trade and other governmental bodies in Bahrain including Municipality and Health.
 
GOLD AND SILVER ADVERTISING AWARDS FOR CO-OP ISLAMI FROZEN CHICKEN CAMPAIGN
A unique press advertising campaign to promote Co-Op Islami's clean and pure halal chicken has won the Gold and Silver awards at the 7th GCC Advertising Awards 2003 organised by the International Advertising Association (UAE Chapter). Bates PanGulf picked up both the Gold and Silver awards for Food advertisements in the print media category with its innovative advertising on the range of Halal chicken products for Co-Op Islami. The distinctive and innovative campaign showed Co-Op Islami in woollen mittens, caps and socks, especially designed to showcase how the company cares for its chicken.
