Haji Saeed Bin Ahmed : The Guiding Star for Halal food

Many people are skeptical the ability of Islamic Economics to cope with the astronomical progress of the World's economy.

Haji Saeed Bin Ahmed Lootah, a true believer in Islam, as a religion and as a system, fit for all times and places, managed to develop his faith into the realm of reality, adopting Islamic economic principles in all his business ventures, one after the other. Dubai Co-Operative Society was than the first benchmark to handle all its business according to the Islamic rules.

Soon afterwards, Dubai Islamic Bank was established to be the first Commercial Islamic Banking the world.

Mr.Saeed Bin Ahmed Lootah was keen to support the establishment of Arab Islamic Insurance Co. in Dubai and Jeddah, at a later stage when newspapers exposed the scandals of involving the type of food supplied from its overseas source.

The Co-op Islamic activities started providing Muslims with the true hall food from overseas resources. This was followed by the establishment of Co-op Islamic Food Processing Factory in Jebel Ali to provide halal meat requirements locally.

The start was in 1981 when the print media exposed the malpractice of the meat exports providing meat to the Islamic countries under the "Halal" slaughtered lable. Even pork was exported under the halal slaughtered label.

Haji Saeed Bin Ahmed Lootah then instructed the General Manager of Dubai Co-operative society to investigate the phenomenon and suggest concrete solutions. Later on, it was found that animals are slaughtered after being electrically stunned (small animals like lamb and chicken) or shot by guns on heads (like cows).

Haji Saeed Bin Ahmed Lootah then instructed the concerned authorities of Dubai Islamic Bank and Dubai Co-operative society to launch the Co-op project. Co-op Islami faced difficulties in convincing slaughterhouses to slaughter according to Islamic religion by hands and sharp knives. With perseverance and faith in god almighty. Co-op Islami is now represented on most continents.

Co-op Islami now has representatives traveling from Dubai and shuttling between continents to ensure that birds / animals are slaughtered individually by muslim hands with sharp knives according to Islamic rules without and eletric stunning or shooting on the head of animals.

To ensure that Co-op Islami specification regarding nutrition (no growth hormones, age and score in chickens, lambs and cow) are compiled with. Therefore Co-op Islami is considered to be the highest qualitu or true halal food. True halal will always be at the top.
