Challenges & Commitments

CO-OP ISLAMl's understanding of real Halal food in not limited to the way animals are slaughtered according to the Islamic Sharia, but also, it goes beyond this by finding out everything that might exist against the Islamic Rites, with quality and hygienic monitoring still maintained. Slaughtering animals following Islamic teachings is the milestone of producing Halal food, and that's why Muslims are committed to adhering to specific rules while slaughtering.

These rules could be summarized in that slaughter should be performed by Muslims and should be done using a well-sharpened knife with the name of God mentioned at the moment of slaughtering. Providing Halal food to the Arab World is one of the biggest challenges since the Arab World imports large amount of meat from non-Islamic countries, like Denmark, France and Brazil -mostly chicken, and New Zealand -mostly mutton and beef; especially when we come to know that stunning animals is widely spread in those countries.

CO-OP ISLAMl tackles this issue in a strict way by sticking fast to the Islamic Sharia rules of slaughter. CO-OP ISLAMl exerted tremendous efforts to solve out this obstacle, and it eventually succeeded to procure special permits from some of these countries to slaughter animals according to the Islamic teachings. Soon afterwards, CO-OP ISLAMI recruited permanently Muslim slaughterers to follow the right way of slaughtering and employed supervisors to monitor the whole process, starting from production line to packing and shipping ensuring that everything is conducted as per the Islamic Sharia.

CO-OP ISLAMl'sI is also committed to monitoring all "CO-OP ISLAMI" branded products like burgers, sausages, kebabs, minced meat, samosa, and many more. It is always ensured that ingredients making up these products are free of non Halal substances such as blood, fat or any other component not produced according to Islamic rites, or any other animal rennet that is derived from pork sources.
